From west to east, the 3 buildings overlooking Chater Road (East section) are the Hong Kong Club Building, CCB Tower, and AIA Central. Having built on reclaimed land in the late 19th century, the site has quite a story to tell.
Completed in 1984, the current Hong Kong Club Building is in its third generation that was built by the Hong Kong Club, a private business and dining club in Hong Kong. The club occupies 8/25 of the tower’s floors, leasing the other floors for office use. Built on the same site, the previous incarnation of the building was of renaissance architecture, but was unfortunately demolished due to high maintenance fees.

Completed in 2005 and 2012 respectively, AIA Central and CCB Tower both provide A-class office space for their parent companies and more. In particular, AIA central's curved facade was designed to resemble traditional Chinese junk ships. Both towers' previous buildings were distinguished hotels Ritz-Carlton Hotel Hong Kong and Furama Hotel respectively. The latter one even had one of Hong Kong's few revolving restaurants!

Due south of Chater Road is Chater Garden. The garden was previously built in 1851 as the Hong Kong Cricket Club. In 1972, the Government planned for the club to be transformed into a public garden, leading to its relocation to Wong Nai Chung Gap 3 years later when their lease expired. To accommodate the MTR Central station's construction, the garden was only partly opened in '78 until fully opened in '83. A plaque can be found within commemorating this moment.
